Dear Daniela,

We are delighted to confirm Naia Trust’s support of the Kayapo Community and ICFC (as fiscal sponsor) for the grant amount of US$25,000 for their territorial defence work and strategy development in the Brazilian Amazon.

Please note that US$19,000 is destined for the original proposed budget of R$104,080. We request to be informed if the final budget significantly varies from this original figure.

We are adding an additional US$6,000 to the grant that the partners may use to enhance this initial strategy (for example if they seek to bring on additional experts or support to the meeting, or for the post-workshop strategy deployment, etc.).

Will you be handling this grant process or will you now hand over to ICFC? If so, please connect us all in an email and include the below so we can speed the process along!

Grant process

  1. Please find attached our Grantee Partner Journey Handbook. Read it before filling out the survey (Step 2).
  2. Please complete the grantee partner intake survey. This includes some practical questions so we can begin to draft the grant agreement along with questions that we’ll cover in our kick-off call.
  3. Grant Agreement. Once we have received your survey responses, we’ll introduce you to our umbrella organisation, Swiss Philanthropy Foundation (SPF). They oversee our legal agreements and fund dispersal. SPF will require several documents which you may wish to start gathering. See below:
    1. Proof of registration as a non-profit organisation
    2. Full bank details including proof that the organisation is the owner of the account (this can be an official letter from the bank or a bank statement showing transactions)
    3. Statutes / Articles of association / Bylaws
    4. Annual accounts (audited if available)
    5. An annual report (no specific format is required, 1-3 pages is OK)
    6. A list of trustees (if applicable)
    7. A tax exemption certificate (if available)
  4. Fund Disbursement and Reporting: Upon receipt and processing of the signed agreement, the grant funds will be disbursed according to the agreed upon schedule. We will require a use of funds report following the completion of the grant.
  5. Working together. Above and beyond the capital, we hope that we can be generative thought partners and allies. We’ll have a kick-off call to collaboratively define how we’d like to work together, and the appropriate impact and reporting approach for you, and a wrap up call at the end to share learnings.

We are very looking forward to working with you all, and to supporting our shared visions for a more beautiful world.

Warmly,

Alexa
